Select the "Transfer" tab. Enter a value of "0" (zero) for "uploads allowed at once" and a value of "1" (one) for "uploads allowed (per user)." These are the minimum values that Ares will allow in order to limit, to the greatest extent, file sharing. Also, under the "Downloads Folder" option, ensure that your shared folder is a separate, unique folder that does not share data or documents with folders or directories on your hard drive that have sensitive documents that you do not wish to share with the Ares network:

Under the Control Panel, select the "File Sharing" and then the "Auto Scan" tab. Note that there is a description for this selection above "This screen allows you to select which folder you would like to share, making it available for the community's users." Do NOT select the option to scan your system and do not add files to share with the Ares network. In addition to potentially violating intellectual property and/or trademark laws, uploading files may also expose sensitive information about your location, identity, and personal documents or data.
