Let's start with clicking "My Files" on the top menu bar. Ensure that "Add files I download from P2P Users to my Public Shared List" is not selected: |
Next, select "Search" from the top menu bar. Select the "Configure..." button and ensure that "Allow me to share Documents with the world" and "Allow me to search for and share Programs with anyone" are not selected. Programs shared on peer-to-peer networks have a higher risk of including malware or spyware. Click OK. Next, ensure that "Don't let me download or upload files copyright owners request not be shared" is not selected: |
Next, select "Transfers" from the top menu bar. Select "Settings..." next to "Set limits on downloads and uploads:" |
In the "Transfer Limits" menu, enter a value of "0" (zero) for "Maximum uploads at once." Next, check the "Limit your upload bandwidth" box and set the field to "10 KB/s." This is the minimum value: |
Next, select "Configure Torrent Settings..." and enter a ratio of zero to zero by entering a value of "0" (zero) for both "Ratio:" and "Maximum days:" |
