Read the following installation carefully as there are important configuration options that affect the security of your computer:

Ensure that the directory into which you download (the "Destination" directory) does not contain any of your sensitive or important files:

In order to limit file sharing, do not "Subscribe to files from the Poplar Skulk:"

Remove all shared directories from the "Shared Files" part of the configuration wizard. Do not add any folders
to this list, as its contents will be shared with the Phex network:

Select the "Open options dialog to view and modify additional settings" in order to further customize the Phex client:

Under the "General Settings" menu, select the "Network" option. If selected, deselect the "Allow to become an
Ultrapeer" and enter a value of "0" (zero) into the "Connections to Ultrapeers" option:

Under the "General Settings" menu, select the "Bandwidth" option. Drag the "Maximum upload bandwidth slider to 0 bytes/s.

Next, select the "Sharing" option under the "General Settings" menu. Enter values of "0" (zero) into the "Max
parallel uploads:" and "Max uploads per host:" options. Also deselect the "Allow browswing of directories"
(in order to prevent Phex from scanning your drive for files to share) and "Share partial files" (to prevent
file- sharing by disallowing partially downloaded and incomplete files from being shared)
