The window below is part of the initial installation. Please follow the directions carefully. The set-up menu below pertains to save and shared folders. Under shared folders, highlight each one or all and click the remove button (to the left-hand side of the screen):
Under the Sharing Extensions set-up menu, uncheck all of the boxes on the left (from Audio to Other). This will disable sharing the extension types on the menu to the right:

Under the FrostWire drop-down menu, click on Preferences:
Click on "Sharing" in the left-hand toolbar and click on "Basic." Ensure that there are no folders for sharing files in the first box. To remove sharing folders, click on the folder and click the "Remove" button. Also, ensure that the "Share Finished Downloads" button is unchecked. These options will significantly limit the file-sharing capabilities of Frostwire:
Next, still under the sharing menu, click on "types." Ensure that every box is unchecked. However, please select "Do Not Share Sensitive File Types." Then click "Apply:"
Under the Advanced Menu under the Sharing drop-down menu, uncheck both the "Share .torrent files" and "Allow Partial Sharing." Then click "Apply:"
Next, click on the Uploads menu on the left-hand toolbar. Drag the slider bar to the minimum (10.94 KB/s). Then click "Apply:"
Select the "Slots" menu and enter the value of "0" (zero) for both "Uploads Per Person" and "Max Upload Slots:"
Next, click on the BitTorrent menu and select the Advanced sub-menu. Uncheck "Let FrostWire manage my BitTorrent settings." Enter a value of " 0" (zero) for both "Maximum uploads per torrent" and "Minimum uploads per torrent." Also, ensure that "Experimental disk access" is unchecked:
Next, select the Advanced Menu and click on "Preferencing." Enter a value of "0" (zero) for "Files You Must Share to Not be a Freeloader:" Drag the slider bar to allow freeloaders "Rarely:"
The toolbar (below) at the bottom of the screen will inform you whether or not a file is being uploaded. To cancel an upload (should it occur even with the configurations above), highlight it and cancel it on the FrostWire application's main window.
