Select the Downloads button. Choose to "Accept sent files from:" nobody:

Next, select the upload button and check the following options:
  • "Limit total upload bandwidth to:"
  • "Limit each upload's bandwidth to:"
  • "Limit total simultaneous uploads to:"
  • "Show each downloading user's shared file count"
  • Then uncheck "Extra allowance for friends:"

Next, enter a value of "0" (zero) KB/S into each of the options under Bandwidth/Slots
except for "Extra allowance for friends:" The following error message will generate,
informing you that you must provide a value other than zero (which would further
limit uploading). Enter the minimum value of "1" (one) KB/S:

Select the Search button and enter a value of "1" (one) KB/S for "Limit outgoing distrib. bandwidth to:"

Next, select the Logs button and check the following options. This will display relevant information
to diagnose whether or not uploading/outbound transfers are occurring:
  • Peer Activity
  • Transfer Activity
  • Distributed Network Activity
  • Server Connection
  • Peer Connections
  • Transfer Connections
  • Distributed Network Connections

SoulseeX allows its users to create and utilize an identity (User name:) to use with its network. If you
choose this option, select a user name that does not divulge information pertaining to your identity.
Providing your e-mail address may also expose portions of your identity:

Under the Controls menu, select "Set Shared Files:"

Ensure that the "Shared Files" button (highlighted in blue toward the bottom) is selected. This will
bring you to monitor whereby you can view inbound and outbound network traffic. Outbound traffic
usually contains uploads and, since SoulseeX does not allow the user to fully disable uploading
capabilities, the user can select an uploading file and select the "Stop" button below to manually
cancel it and prevent it from being shared:
